Volunteer Recognition
Most volunteers will tell you they don't do it for the recognition. But we've learned that the people and nonprofit agencies that benefit from the work of volunteers appreciate an opportunity to say "thank you." Our "Volunteer Star" program helps them do just that.
A Volunteer Star could be someone who volunteers in a nonprofit organization or human service agency, a school, hospital or nursing home, but a star could also be someone who quietly helps another. The young person who shovels snow for an elderly person or someone who drives a neighbor to medical appointments is just as eligible to receive a volunteer star as is someone who volunteers in a more formal way.
All Volunteer Stars will be recognized in special newspaper ads and via community events during Volunteer Recognition week, April 18th-24th 2010.
